Geostud helps children in Poplar Valley to start the new school year on the right foot

Geostud supports education, helping to create a better future for children from disadvantaged backgrounds by improving access to education. During the week of 29 August – 2 September, Geostud and Natura 5 Association offices were collecting school supplies, clothing and footwear, toys, gadgets and financial aid for children from Valea Plopului, under the care of Father Nicolae Tănase. The initiative is based on the desire to combat school drop-out in disadvantaged areas. In Romania, 4 out of 10 children live in poverty and social exclusion.

The new school year will soon begin, which is why the employees of the two organisations have come to the aid of the children, with the aim of contributing to their educational development, which is a fundamental right of every child. Thus, in just a few days, the Geostud and Natura 5 Association teams have collected hundreds of clothes, boots, toys and school supplies, dozens of kilograms of fruit and food for over 300 children from Valea Plopului.

The initiative of Geostud and the Natura 5 Association was rewarded by the great family of priest Nicolae Tănase, who is more than a parent to these children saved from abandonment.

“Big smiles and tears of joy were offered as a reward when we went to hand over the gifts. We saw happy children, mothers and grandmothers regaining hope, thanking us with gratitude. Congratulations to Father Nicolae Tănase and we are glad to be able to be with this beautiful, human project that resonates in the hearts of those who receive and give!”, declares Petru Nicolae, General Manager SC Geostud SRL.

About Father Nicolae Tănase and the care for people
Father Nicolae Tănase, father of 6 children, is a priest in Valea Plopului and Valea Screzii, commune of Posești, Prahova county.
In 1994, Father Nicolae founded the association through which he takes care, temporarily or permanently, of children who cannot be supported by their own families, orphans and abandoned children. These children are either placed in foster care with families in the village, or are housed in the parish house and cared for by the association’s staff and volunteers.
